January 1, 2015
"Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one". This was the inspiration sent by my friend Mr. Noor last night as he sent me best wishes for the new year."Great idea", I replied as I reciprocated the best wishes for 2015.
To myself I thought this might help me process the thoughts and feelings that come my way this year. This Spring semester will be a busy one, as I will be taking a methods in teaching Health class at CSULB (even though I have been teaching Health since 1994), teaching a curriculum development class at MSMC, no....MSMU(!), while teaching my full load of classes at Fremont....all 306 students.
As busy as I will be I feel positive, energized and full of hope. It seems the negative teacher-bashing has relented somewhat and I can feel validated for the hard work that I put in teaching my students. February will mark my 29th year as a teacher; I'm looking forward to the day when I can retire.
Becky is in Mexico with George for Elizabeth's wedding. I'm very happy that her disposition changed because I was very concerned about her. Thank God for Tia Mani, Titi, Alyssa, Olivia, and Matunde. It does take a village!
I have always told the girls to get home before the bars close, and never is that more true than on New Year's Eve. Alyssa went to a house party with Kimber and she's still not home.
Being a mom never ends.
